CLINICS

Antenatal Clinics

If you think you may be pregnant, please see the doctor who you wish to look after you through the pregnancy so that your antenatal care can be arranged.

Asthma/Chronic Obstrusive Pulmonary Disease (COPD) Clinic

We have an asthma clinic, which is run by Maureen Lewis. The purpose of the clinic is to regularly review our asthma patients so that as far as possible we can prevent serious asthma attacks.

We encourage any patient who is receiving medication for asthma to attend the asthma clinic. Please ask the receptionist for details.

Diabetic Clinic

The diabetic clinic is run by Judy Clifford and Dr Wells. We aim to review most of our diabetic patients in the diabetic clinic, reducing the need for patients to attend hospital out-patient clinics. Please ask the receptionist for details.

Coronary Heart Disease (CHD)/Stroke Clinic

We run a Coronary Heart Disease clinic for patients with heart disease, for example those patients who have suffered a heart attack or angina. Patients are invited to clinic every six months, where their condition and current medication is reviewed. This clinic is run by Maureen Lewis and Dr Wells.

Child Health Clinic

We hold weekly child health clinics. These are run by our health visitors in conjunction with Dr Giles and Dr Keogh. All children are examined at 8 weeks. Written invitations are sent out shortly before the clinics are held.

Cervical Smears

We recommend that all our female patients should have a smear performed from age 25 to 64 years. You will be contacted as per the local recall programme. Travel Vaccinations

Our nurses offer a full advisory service for those travelling abroad. Please book in with the nurses two to three months before you are due to travel.

Minor Surgery

We offer a wide range of minor surgical procedures at the surgery. You should consult a doctor about any moles, lumps or bumps that concern you, as these may be suitable for removal at the surgery.

Flu Vaccination

This is recommended for everyone over 65 years of age, and for patients with chronic medical conditions such as heart disease, diabetes, chest or kidney problems. It is carried out between October and December each year. Please book in with the nurse.

Private Medical Services

Some services are not covered by the NHS, and a charge will be made for these. This includes private insurance forms, passport applications, and various special examinations for employment, driving etc.

A full list of these services is displayed in the surgery together with the current standard charges.
